Job Purpose:
As a key member of the Ice Cream Sales team, the Territory Manager plays a crucial role in driving business growth and ensuring seamless sales operations. This position focuses on cultivating strong customer relationships, executing trade activities, and meeting performance indicators while overseeing the concessionaire sales force.
Job Responsibilities:
- Business Growth: Propel the business towards achieving Underlying Volume and Sales Growth targets.
- Target Tracking: Monitor and track volume and targets across all sales channels.
- Relationship Development: Forge robust relationships with customers and Sales Point Developers (SPDs) at both concessionaire and retail levels.
- Customer Service: Enhance customer service by addressing complaints, conducting meetings, and ensuring Regular Sales Officers (RSOs) engage with Priority Joint Customers (PJPs).
- Market Intelligence: Gather insights on competitor activities and market conditions, sharing findings with relevant stakeholders.
- Store Visibility: Increase competitive visibility in retail locations.
- Operational Coordination: Collaborate with concessionaires to execute effective sales strategies and operational plans.
- Team Management: Oversee concessionaire sales staff, including RSOs and order bookers, to ensure KPI delivery.
- Negotiation: Engage with customers and SPDs to develop Joint Business Plans (JBPs) that maximize return on investment (ROI).
- Sales Forecasting: Conduct daily sales monitoring and support customers in crafting JBPs based on market forecasts.
- Plan Implementation: Execute agreed JBPs and concessionaire business plans, reviewing KPI progress weekly.
- Financial Acumen: Maintain a strong understanding of financial metrics related to business profitability and gross margin.
- Team Leadership: Lead and nurture the extended sales team, focusing on talent development.
- Ethical Standards: Uphold key business principles and values, ensuring no conflicts of interest arise.
- Project Leadership: Manage the deployment of activations, launch plans, and micro-marketing initiatives with careful post-launch evaluations and necessary adjustments.
- Process Redefinition: Utilize strong analytical skills to refine processes post-execution.
- Business Exploration: Identify new business opportunities in the territory while improving existing business models and implementing best practices where applicable.
- Asset Utilization: Ensure optimal use of assets, including tracking and maintaining trikes and cabinets in collaboration with the Cold Chain Team.
- SPD Network Development: Build a network of SPDs within the territory to better serve shoppers and consumers.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure that customer operations adhere to Unilever’s safety policies and principles.
